The Georgina Ice Palace transformed into dessert heaven this weekend as local bakers, vendors, and tart-lovers gathered for one sweet showdown. Tables overflowed with flaky crusts, golden filling, and plenty of napkins.

Whether you came for the butter tarts, the market vendors, or the sugar rush, it was Georgina’s coziest kind of chaos.

🍂 Autumn’s Best at Holtrop Family Farm

Rows of pumpkins and the crispest air of the season. Holtrop Family Farm in Keswick is peak fall right now, with orange fields, hay underfoot, and perfect family photo ops.

If you haven’t made your trip yet, this is your week to grab a wagon and claim your pumpkin before they’re gone.

🏛️ MURC Back in Full Swing

After a brief outage earlier this month, the Multi-Use Recreation Complex is fully back online, with swim lessons, programs, and fitness classes running as usual.

It’s quickly cementing its role as Georgina’s beating heart, from toddlers in the pool to weekend volleyball and seniors’ yoga.

The Town of Georgina is actively promoting its Community Improvement Plan (CIP), offering local business grants up to $7,500 for upgrades like storefronts, landscaping, or accessibility improvements in Keswick, Sutton, and Jackson’s Point.

🚨 Safety Reminder

York Regional Police are investigating a serious collision at Ravenshoe Rd and Kennedy Rd that left a motorcyclist in critical condition on Oct 17.

A good reminder as evenings get darker: take it slow and keep headlights on early.

Since the 1820s, stories have circulated about Igopogo, the legendary “Lake Simcoe Monster.” Described as a long, gray creature with a sheep-like head, it’s mostly harmless — unless you’re paddling too close to shore without snacks.

After a brief power outage earlier this month, the Multi-Use Recreation Complex is fully reopened — with swim lessons, community fitness programs, and drop-in recreation resuming as normal.
